Obama has made his announcement. Joe Biden is his choice for Vice-President. Good days for Delaware and the nation are on the horizon. Biden brings large amounts of foreign policy experience to the pairing. In addition Biden's 30+ years in the Senate give him the experience of government the administration will need to make progress on issues facing the nation today.
Walking the streets the last several days I found many people anxious to see this particular pairing. The opinion among voters in neighborhoods seems to be uniformly positive about Obama. Now with the addition of Biden Delawareans have more than one reason to celebrate.
Onward and upward we go! This is the best year the Democrats have had in a long time. This is the year when I feel confident we can sweep the House and possibly take a veto proof majority in the Senate. The pairing of Obama and Biden goes a long way toward making the year an overall success in Democratic Party politics. Let us hope this is the mark of the beginning of a truly new direction for our nation.
Peace.

This decision makes for interesting times in DE politics as we lose our senior Senator. But the nation stands to gain a pairing which gives hope for the future. The trade is a fair one.
Peace.
I support you, Jerry, despite your party affiliation, not because of it.
But, since this news has brought you joy, I offer my congratulations to you. I honor your enthusiasm, though I don't agree with it.
On Barack Obama's website, visitors are invited to leave a message for Sen. Biden. Here's what I wrote:
"I'm supporting Obama because he is as different from George Bush as a candidate and possibly be. I hope you will both help him get elected and support him in remaining different. Barack; Repeal the Bush Administration.
Ok. I'm going to say my piece and then I will leave this site untroubled by my presence in the future.
Obama is a guy who has shown himself to be every bit as much a warmonger as Bush and McCain.
Obama is a guy who voted to help destroy Fisa and voted for extension of the Patriot act.
Obama is a guy who cold barely bring himself to vote against Judge Roberts.
Obama is guy who has voted for the continuation of the Iraq war again and again and again.
Obama is a guy whose declared political hero is Ronald Reagan.
Any party that supports Obama gets no support from me, and no members of such a party get any support from me.
Goodbye and good luck Jerry. I wish you well and I thank you for everything.
Workshop,
What's good for Northington ...can't be all bad.
Chris,
I fear my friend has left for good this time. We have always had our differences, but this may be the last straw.
I believe Biden and Obama are very, very good for my campaign. I am delighted for the nation as well as for myself.
Peace, Jerry
